bmw get rid of the red car of death on hoist lift ramp warning light

If you have a BMW and someone has falsely or accidentally reset the brake service warning light but did not change the brake pads (and wear sensors), the red car on a hoist symbol will stay brightly lit up on your dash. No matter how much tape you stick over it, the whole dash lights up red.
You may have a faulty brake wear sensor or you may need to buy a new sensor.
You can temporarily reset this red car on a hoist warning light if you follow the directions in this video but make sure you fix the sensor properly and have your brake pads checked.
