LIVE: Climate protesters march to UN headquarters in New York City

Thousands of climate protesters rally outside the United Nations Headquarters in New York, on Sunday, September 17.

The event is organized by groups including 'Extinction Rebellion NYC' and 'People vs. Fossil Fuels', who have assembled a coalition including many grassroots organizations.

It comes ahead of the Climate Ambition Summit at UNHQ next week. Demonstrators are also calling on President Joe Biden to use his executive powers to prevent an expansion of fossil fuel projects in the US.
