Of course, sin is the biggest thing that blocks us from clearly hearing Jesus Christ, but there ARE some brothers and sisters in the LORD who HAVE TRULY REPENTED OF SIN, they are practicing righteousness, but when they pray they will still sometimes hear silence. I want to tell you what the Lord Jesus has told me about this thing. See, when we pray there are MANY spirits, there are evil spirits and evil spirits can also come to us and try to deceive us, BUT GOD Himself is ALSO SPIRIT, and He says those who worship HIM MUST do so in SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH! We are also spirit, but our spirit is housed inside this tent called our body. We are tested often when we pray. Our allegiance is tested to see if we truly are diligently pursuing the Lord Jesus and if we will RUN from strangers, or if we will listen to strangers and if our faith then MUST be increased. When we pray sometimes the Lord Jesus chooses specifically to speak to us through silence. It is NOT because we are in sin, but it is to test us to see if we will listen to those evil spirits, or if we will rebuke the devil and continue to keep our eyes on Jesus. There are MANY spirits that will try to discourage us, to say that we are in a certain sin, but they will only condemn you they will NOT give you a way out. I want to tell you; when the Holy Spirit convicts you of a sin, He does not condemn you to hell but He tells you the direction, HE tells you the way OUT of sin if you truly are in sin. BUT if you are NOT in sin, and you hear silence, the Lord Jesus is EVEN SPEAKING THROUGH THE SILENCE! He tests our allegiance to see if we will continually listen to HIM, and wait for HIS guidance or if we will start to listen to these other spirits. Because Jesus says that His sheep listen to HIS voice and they do NOT listen to the strangers, in fact they RUN from those strangers. There are MANY strangers, some of the strangers are people and some are demonic spirits. We HAVE to choose to listen to the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit WILL TEACH US IF WE CONTINUE TO PRAY! But the Lord Jesus increases our FAITH in this way, and sometimes it is through the painful silence. BUT if we continually PRAY and FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS and ask HIM for clarity, HE WILL SPEAK TO US, the reason He does this is because He loves us! He increases our faith through these trials, and He will continually grow your faith if you are faithful to continually seek HIM in prayer. So do not be discouraged if you are a brother or sister in Christ who occasionally hears only silence when you pray. We are tested in MANY ways, but what we need to do is fix our eyes on Jesus and continually serve Him and listen to HIM, we do NOT listen to strangers, we REBUKE THE DEVIL when he comes against us because we KNOW the Holy Spirit will certainly convict us and give us the way OUT of sin if in fact we are in sin. And HE will surly show us the direction to life. The devil does not show us the direction to life, he only condemns/accuses . We do NOT listen to that voice, we REBUKE the devil and we keep our eyes on the Lord Jesus. May the grace of Jesus be with you.
