Powerpoint Outline view - mode
Powerpoint Outline view - mode and Powerpoint Sections tutorial. Learn how to use Outline view-mode in powerpoint and how to organize your presentation using sections slides and section separation like chapters.
The Outline view is new for PowerPoint 2013 -- wait, that's not absolutely true since you always had access to your presentation's text outline through the Slides / Outline pane on the left side of the PowerPoint interface. What's changed though is that you no longer need to switch tabs within the pane (as you would do in PowerPoint 2010) -- now you just access the outline within a new view! The Outline view displays all the text contained within the title and text placeholders of your slides, and is one of the ten views in PowerPoint 2013.
Outline view shows your slide text in outline form. This allows you to quickly edit your slide text and view the content of multiple slides at once. You could use this layout to review the organization of your slide show and prepare to deliver your presentation.
Overview of sections
Have you ever gotten lost in a giant presentation when the slide titles and numbers start blurring together, and navigating through the presentation becomes impossible? You simply lose track of where you are!
In Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, you can use the new Sections feature to organize your slides, much like you would use folders to organize your files. You can use named sections to keep track of groups of slides. And, you can assign sections to colleagues to make ownership clear during collaboration. If you’re starting with a blank slate, sections can even be used to outline the topics in your presentation.
While you can view sections in either Slide Sorter view or Normal view, Slide Sorter view tends to be more helpful when you want to organize and sort your slides into logical categories that you have defined.
