In this video, I've shared my version of Black Urad Dal & Sesame Ladoo!
It is a very healthy ladoo and is especially good for women of all age groups and growing girls.

Black Urad dal or Karuppu ulundhu is loaded with immense health benefits and hence very important for women's health! It has fiber, iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium and so much more.

It is very easy to prepare this ladoo with very few ingredients.

1. Take 200 gms whole black urad dal, wash it and dry in a clean towel under the fan for 10-15 minutes.
2. Dry roast in a pan on low flame for 7-8 minutes until it emits a nice aroma.
3. Remove and allow it to cool down on a plate.
4. In the same pan roast 50 gms washed & drained black sesame seeds.
5. Roast until it starts to splutter and allow it to cool on a plate.
6. In the same pan add a tsp of ghee and roast 2 tbsp chopped cashew and 1 tbsp raisins and take it out in a bowl.
7. Now in a mixie jar, add 1/4th cup (40 gms) of Badam and make it into a powder and transfer it to a basin.
8. Now add the black urad dal in the mixie jar and make it into a powder and transfer it to the same basin. Don't worry if it is slightly coarse.
9. Now add the cooled down sesame seeds to the mixie jar and powder it.
10. To the same basin add 200 gms of Jaggery.
11. Now add 1/4 tsp of Cardomom powder and pulse everything together in the mixie once again.
12. Now heat 1/2 cup of ghee until it melts and add it to the mixture.
13. Add the roasted cashew and raisins to this and mix well with a spoon.
14. Once the heat is bearable shape them into ladoos of your desired size.
15. You will get around 25 ladoos for the mentioned quantity. Store it in a clean air-tight container and it will be good even for 10 days as everything is roasted.
16. Make in small batches and enjoy this healthy ladoo.
