Daal chawal is always a comfort food especially in summers . This is how my mother used to make masoor daal . You can adjust the apices accordingly

Ingredients:
Masoor dal 1cup
Salt to taste (i added 1tsp+3/4tsp)
Red chilli powder 1tsp + 1/2tsp)
Haldi 1/2tsp
Garam masala 1tsp
Dhaniya powder 1tsp
Zeera powder 1tsp
Onion small finely sliced
Tomato 1small chopped
Ginger garlic paste 1tsp

Water total 4cups (For instant pot) if you are using pressure cooker add water according to your requirements)
I added 2cups while pressure cooking and 2cups after opening the lid

Baghar :
Onion
Garlic
Green chillies
Zeera
Kari patta (I didn’t find fresh that is why didn’t added)
Sabut lal mirch

Dry roast 1/2tsp garam masala and 1tsp dhaniya powder and add to daal .

Chatni/Chutney
Onion 1/2
Tomato 1/2
Green chilles 3-4
Dhaniya handful
Podina few
Salt 2-3pinches
Lemon

Coarsely chop and serve .
