BOTOX is often referred to
BOTOX is often referred to as the "cosmetic" go-to for reducing wrinkles. However, BOTOX for migraines is often used to help reduce or eliminate the need for on-going headache and/or migraine pain medications.
The procedure is simple and only takes about 5-10 minutes to complete. The injections are performed very superficially around the head and neck regions which reduces the overall pain and discomfort.
The BOTOX for migraine treatment typically lasts 3 months at which time the procedure would be repeated.
*Insurance typically covers this treatment but does require prior authorization due to the high cost of the BOTOX medication.
