In 1998, Jean-Claude Vandamme was on the decline. He desperately tries to climb the slope of the Hollywood star system by shooting LEGIONNAIRE, a costume film in the Moroccan desert with his new protege: Dida Diafat, former Thai boxing champion in 1991.
Promised to a great career as an action actor, Dida could have become the Scott Adkins of his time. Unfortunately he will only see Hollywood glitter from afar and his American career will never really take off. In the end, it will only run sporadically.
JCVD, then in the midst of an existential crisis on cocaine, will eventually let go of him to enter his "aware" period...
