For sure any company tries to reduce its expenses, so if the robot is doing 100 percent of the job of the employee, then we could get rid of the employees and replace them by robots, but such things need time, by the time a robot could replace the employee or could replace the current used machines. If it will be able to do its job 100 percent and does its duty fully, then one day the robot could replace the human being.”

LEAD IN :

Are robot waiters the future? It’s a question the restaurant industry is increasingly trying to answer.

Many think robot waiters are the solution to the industry’s labour shortages.

Sales of them have been growing rapidly in recent years, with tens of thousands now gliding through dining rooms worldwide.

STORYLINE:

Waiters in this restaurant in Kuwait have a new assistant, a robot called CAN.

CAN can't take orders or even place a tray on the table, but the waiter robot can carry it across the room to the correct destination.

A waiter then places the tray of food on the table for customers.

Diner Jukerya Serja Milli is enjoying a meal with his family which was partly served by the android.

He says that machines will play an ever increasing role in the service industry.

“Moving forward this will be the way, it cannot be 100 percent I would say but at least yes 60/40, 60 (percent) human and 40 (percent) robots, yes why not, it will replace.”
