M23 fighters have pledged to leave Rumangabo in Democratic Republic of Congo.
But the Congolese army says an earlier promise to quit another town, Kibumba has not happened.
Conflict has forced many people to flee and a UN investigation found widespread human rights abuses.
Millions of people have died from violence in the region since the 1990s according to some estimates.
So what are the prospects for a lasting peace?
