Navi Mumbai Airport Latest Update|Navi Mumbai International Airport Construction Update|NMIA Update Navi Mumbai International Airport (IATA: NMI) at Panvel & Ulwe, Maharashtra is being developed by the Adani Group-led Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL) with a 4 phase master plan to handle over 60 million passengers per annum in the future. Navi Mumbai Airport is expected to be inaugurated in March 2025 and opened for flight operations in April 2025. The first signal test of the instrumental landing system (ILS) at the Navi Mumbai International Airport was held on July 17, 2024. The ILS provides vertical and horizontal cues using radio beams to the pilot that helps him during take-off and landing. The test was taken from the runway of the under-construction airport. The results of the signal test will be sent for further analysis to the headquarters. The Navi Mumbai International Airport is aiming to start commercial operations by March 2025. The project entails the construction of an H-shaped five-level terminal building on a total area of 523,000m². The terminal comprises two concourses, 78 contact airport positions, 29 remote aircraft positions, and more than 350 check-in counters. It will also have three curbs, one at grade and two elevated. The first level curb will be meant for commercial vehicles, while the second and third respectively will be dedicated for arrivals and departures. In addition, the terminal will have a provision for online check-in and an integrated baggage handling system on an area of 13,290m². The terminal building, upon completion, is expected to support a total capacity of 60 million passengers per year. The project, in addition to the terminal building, also includes the construction of two parallel runways each 3,700 m long, 60 m wide, and 1.55km apart. Domestic and international cargo terminals will also be built on over 33,000 m2 and 23,700 m2 pieces of land respectively. Additionally, the project comprises the construction of a 151,000 m2 fuel farm, three aircraft hangars taxiways, an apron area, an aircraft maintenance site, and long-term aircraft parking. Other infrastructure facilities set for construction include car parking, a power supply system and a water treatment plant. Two main access roads, i.e. Amra Marg in the west and NH 4B in the east, will provide connectivity to the Navi Mumbai International Airport. To connect Navi Mumbai Airport with multiple nodes, new roads and connectors are under construction, with the Panvel-Navi Mumbai Airport connector being a vital link. The project is underway, alongside the construction of a new road on the airport's north side, which will establish connectivity with Panvel, Khandeshwar, Kalamboli, Kamothe, Taloja, Roadpali, and Kharghar. This video provides a tour of the ongoing infrastructure work, created for informational purposes. #navimumbaiairportlatestupdate #navimumbaiinternationalairportconstructionupdate #nmiaupdate #navimumbaiinternationalairportprogress #navimumbaiinternationalairportconnectivity #navimumbaiinternationalairportcurrentstatus #navimumbaiairporttesting #dbpatilinternationalairportupdate
