This video is the 4th episode of Rare and Valuable Postage Stamps at World wide Philatelic Auctions. Stamps from Great Britain, East Africa and Uganda, Ceylon, Canada, Bahamas, Bermuda etc. are included in this video. I have briefly discussed the features of each stamp. Values mentioned in this video are only for the specific stamp shown here. These are the expert's estimated values for these stamps. On 6 May, 1840 the world's first adhesive postage stamp - the Penny Black - was issued by the United Kingdom. The original black color was quickly found to be impractical. The reason for this is that any cancellation mark would be hard to see. So later new brick-red colors stamps were produced. The portrait of Queen Victoria remained on the stamps throughout her reign in Great Britain. However varied depictions of the monarch were used on different British Commonwealth Stamps. The most popular and most commonly used stamps was the Penny Lilac. This was first issued in 1881. With the death of the Queen Victoria, new stamps with King Edward VII profile were issued. Later during the reign of King George first commemorative stamps to celebrate the opening of the British Empire Exhibition were released in 1924.
