Colfax warns residents to be prepared for snowstorm, possible power outages

It was turning blistery in Colfax on Wednesday. Snow started falling just before 5 p.m. and flurries were flying on and off throughout the afternoon.  "Usually we get enough for misting and playing around in it and then it goes away real quick," said Colfax Mayor Trinity Burress.  But not this time. Burress said the city is gearing up for a decent amount of snow at its lower elevation of about 2,400 feet. The last time snow buried the town was in December 2021.
