A couple of years ago,
A couple of years ago, in 2005, when NIKE SB was the hypebeast's go to pair, a collab between Nike SB and iconic 90's rappers De La Soul released on a Dunk High and a Dunk Low in two vibrant colourways. They were inspired by the cover of their 1989 hit record "3 Feet High And Rising".
I love De La Soul, on a bad day I play their tracks to put me in a good mood and motivate me. This video is somehow a way for me to pay hommage to one of the best rap bands ever.
Those pairs of sneakers I just mentionned have an important resell value I was not willing to pay. When the kicks were rereleased ten years later in alternate versions in 2015, the hype was less crazy so I could technically get the pair but then I was a sort of broke and had to spend my money on more important stuff.
I finally got a chance to buy it from someone for cheap on a Facebook group called "Sneakers France": www.facebook.com/groups/Sneak... , and once I got the pair, I wanted to do a sneaker review. But instead of doing a classic (boring) sneaker review like I did before on my previous channel dedicated to sneakers "dvndi loves kicks", youtube.com/watch?v=Tn_j5... ("Today I'm going to talk about the blablabla"), I wanted to spice things up a little and create my own story around this low-top pair of
Baroque Brown and Altitude Green Nike SB Dunk Low “De La Soul” 2015 edition. So I put the shoes on my feet, grabbed my Globe Skateboard that I aquired during my April Trip to Los Angeles (youtube.com/watch?v=-vf8a...) from a dude on Graig's list, my Canon EOS 600D camera and a 5 euro bill and some coins I left on my desk and I let the my cruzer wheels drive me through grey and cold Kreuzberg in Berlin, my "new" Kiez (Neighborhood in German), and tried to find elements matching the colors of the album cover and miracles happened.
Side note:
-in this video sometimes the copy shows for a very short time. It's done on purpose for those of you who might not understand, just be patient and watch it again…
I recommend this Doner Kebap Joint. It's located at the Gneisenaustrasse train exit. The meat and the vegetables were fresh. The bread was toasted and the sauces were tasty. It's pretty cheap: only 3,50 €
Elements I did not mention: The pair comes in the iconic NIKE SB black and teal box. It's delivered with two different color round laces : brown and green (I choose the green one, just because it's crazier. Btw this pair could be the perfect match for a perfect Halloween costume in my opinion). It's made of premium brown suede and the album cover inspired pictures are made of resistant vinyl. The toecap features a green colored elephant print (initiated by Tinker Hatfield on the Nike Air Jordan 3 in 1989).
