In this video, I'll show
In this video, I'll show you how to stretch a painted canvas onto a classic stretcher frame and also how to assemble the frame for it.
You'll also learn about a pieced stretcher frame, how to screw on classic serrated hangers, and how to remove bumps or dents.
Here's what I used:
- a large soft underlayment, in my case it was an old bed sheet
- a flat/medium slotted screwdriver
- a small hammer and a rubber mallet
- a normal folding rule and a measuring tape
- about 100 staples
- first a mechanical (to show) and then an electric stapler
- a stop angle (you can also use e.g. a set square)
- at the end I use a stretching pliers, exactly this teflon coated one is available at Gerstaecker for approx. 30 Euro
