Installation of Crack Isolation Membrane and Primer.

How to install peel and stick crack isolation membrane.  This is used on concrete slabs with cracks and potential lateral movement.  The membrane will reduce the likelihood of the new tile we are installing from cracking due to lateral movement in the concrete slab.  The membrane does not protect tile from cracking from vertical movement in the substrate.  In this installation we are installing large format tile 6" X 36" X 1/2" using medium bed mortar.  The new membrane is also very helpful in masking off undulations in the substrate that can cause ledges in the edges of the tile.
