We had the chance to drive the 2022 Hyundai Veloster N earlier this year, the first vehicle from Hyundai's N performance sub-brand. Since then the South Korean brand has come out with several more models under the N branding including this 2023 Hyundai Kona N. A FWD-only version of the popular subcompact crossover, the N treatment comes with a 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine which produces 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque, along with a horsepower boost of 10 hp when using the N Grin Shift button located on the steering wheel.

James goes over all the technical detail about this vehicle that potential buyers would be interested in knowing along with a thorough overview of the exterior design and features along with the interior design and layout. While the Kona N comes fully equipped in the Canadian and US markets, with paint being the only optional extra, there are features not found on this from other Kona models, such as no AWD option, no sunroof, no automatic high beams, and some other small details.

James then takes the 2023 Hyundai Kona N on a real-world road test to talk about how this performance subcompact crossover performs on the road, some details about his experience in the driver's seat, and how the Kona N performed on summer tires at the end of fall. Details about the N modes, different drive modes, and the NGS button are discussed along with the options found in the infotainment system to adjust the experience of this vehicle.
