Family Style Service by Miraglia Catering

What is family style service? A series of food platters, brought to the guest tables.  Guests serve themselves. This is the third/main course of a family style dinner at the Brazilian Room in Berkeley, CA. The waitstaff set down platters of: Vegetable Napoleons, Mashed Potatoes with Cheddar and Chives, Seasonal Vegetables Sauteed with Herb Butter, Flatiron Steak Salmoriglio-Style, and Free Range Chicken with Pancetta Artichokes and Tomatoes. Family Style service is fairly rare, and requires more planning and coordination than a typical wedding dinner, before the event, in the onsite kitchen and in the front-of-the house staffing. It's absolutely crucial that the tables are large enough, that guests are spaced out properly, and that the centerpiece footprint is part of the tabletop space planning.
