Picturesque Seaside Village + Persian Food - Devonport, North Shore, AUCKLAND

Devonport is a historic, pretty seaside village in North Shore, Auckland. There are two volcanic cones Mt Victoria (Takarunga) and North Head (Maungauika) which are a must visit in Devonport.

For lunch we got our takeaways from Arkdeniz, a Persian restaurant in Devonport. Delicious with generous portions, it was very filling and also in short walking distance of Windsor Reserve right next to Devonport Beach which was where we enjoyed our meal. Be sure to call well ahead if ordering takeaways as they're very popular.

Both Mt Victoria and North Head offer fantastic panoramic views of Auckland's skyline and harbour. They're also in short driving distance of each other. You can't drive to either summit anymore, but it's only a short easy 10-15 min walk to the top.
