Carla Valentine talks about her former role as an Anatomical Pathology Technologist (APT), otherwise known as a mortician. When you die you will likely have a regular coronial post mortem or autopsy. However, if it is a suspicious death a forensic post mortem is required. The APT will assist the pathologist in examining the body, performing the autopsy, examining the internal organs and reconstructing the deceased before the body is passed to the family for burial or cremation.
