Quantitative and Spatial Differences in Host Response Dynamics to SARS-CoV-2 Variants of Concern

Speaker Biography: Silvia Groiss PhD., studied Molecular Biosciences at the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg, Austria before working as a research assistant at the Manipal Institute of Technology, India. She continued her Master’s Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biomedicine at the Karl-Franzen University in Graz and at EMBL Grenoble where she investigated the structural basis of ISGF3 anti-viral signalling. She conducted her PhD at the Medical University of Graz (MUG) focusing on respiratory diseases using 3D air-liquid-interface cell cultures, which she then employed to study SARS-CoV-2 infections in the BSL-3 laboratory at the Institute of Pathology (MUG). Her recent focus lies on deciphering the divers host pathogen responses to different SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern.
