Again parts of the overall
Again parts of the overall story elements and especially the last scene with Kilgharrah (which was their suggestion) is inspired by the great Merlin fanfic "Vision of Happiness": https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12219352...
PLOT:
After the Council Meeting everyone gets ready for Merlin's official Ceremoy. Gaius proudly announces Merlin as Emrys, the warlock foretold by the Druids.
Merlin is tense, as he kneels before Arthur, who cannot hide a proud smile.
After the knighting Arthur asks Merlin to perform a spell for the Court and Merlin used the Rose spell he used for Freya to let it rain rose petals. Gwen and arthur are amazed and the Nobles are pleasently surprised by the nice and beautiful side of Magic.
During the feast Merlin reassures Arthur that they will continue to work together and build Albion. Though Merlin is now a lord, he still sees himself as Arthur's advisor and servant, which he is proud of. Arthur is glad to have Merlin by his side.
Suddenly Merlin heard Kilgharrah calling him. He rushes off, out of instict without telling Arthur, and the King follows him with Excalibur.
Arthur is shocked to see the giant Dragon and bravely lifts a spear to defend Merlin, but the Warlock tells him it's alright. Reluctantly Arthur lowers the spear.
He is speechless to hear the gigantic creature talk and address him as the Once and Future King who will unite Albion.
Merlin and Kilgharrah start to talk and Arthur listenes. Kilgharrah wanted to come one last time to see Merlin and his prophecy of brining back magic with his own eyes and also to finally meet Arthur in person.
Arthur slowly realizes that the must have known each other for a long time and he starts to suspect Merlin being a Dragonlord as well.
Then Kilgharrah reminds them that he is dying. arthur is heartbroken to lose the new friend so suddenly, but the wise Dragon tells him not to be sad.
Merlin bows respectfully and thanks Khilgharrah for his council all these years.
Side by side the King and the Sorcerer watch Kilgharrah flying away.
The Era of the Dragons is ending. But the Era of Magic has just begun.
