Jorma Myyrylainen, in this webinar, analyses the part played by Enterprise Architects in the history of EA.  What have they achieved with their chance to improve organisations. Have they succeeded?  Are organisations more effective under their guidance?  His answer is NO.  He promises to try and give some concrete answers as well as provoke some deeper thinking.

He leads us to think along:
What is EA’s purpose?  What is our right to exist?
•          What should be the essential core of Enterprise Architecture and Architect?
•          Does anyone benefit from our work?  Who should benefit?
•          Who are our real customers? … targets? … gainers?
•          What should we do as enterprise architects to survive and prosper?

Myyryläinen works as Senior Enterprise Architect at Tieto Group.  He has 35 years of experience in different roles in ITC and architectures.  Customers have mainly been public sector organizations. Last eight years he has consulted the Finnish Tax Authority (FTA) as ICT and EA architect.

Myyryläinen was one of team members when FTA produced their organization wide enterprise architecture during 2010 – 11.  After that he has consulted FTA in several EA fields.

Myyryläinen has excellent knowledge on several architecture methods and frameworks, e.g. Zachman, TOGAF and finnish public sector standards (JulkICT).  He also contributes to develop JulkICT standards further.  He is both TOGAF and Zachman certified.
