Who is Bade Khan? 👌 Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Biography in Hindi 🎬📺
Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan was an Indian Hindustani classical vocalist who belonged to the Patiala Gharana. His father, Ustad Ali Baksh Jarnail or Ali Bakhsh Kasuri, belonged to the Patiala Gharana (vocal school) of Punjab.
Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan was born in Kasur, of the erstwhile Punjab Province, British India, in 1902. He started his singing career with his father, Ali Baksh Khan, and uncle Kale Khan. Bade Ghulam amalgamated the best of three traditions into his style:
• The Behram Khani elements of Dhrupad
• The gyrations of Jaipur
• The behlavas (embellishments) of Gwalior
Many of his ragas were brief, retaining the beauty of classical music.
He excelled at light-hearted ragas like Adana, Hameer, Bhupali, Jaijaiwanti, and Jaunpuri.
He created several musical compositions. 🪔
After the Partition of India in 1947, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan shifted to Kasur in Pakistan. In 1957. He acquired Indian citizenship and migrated to Mumbai.
He sang two songs based on ragas Sohni and Rageshri for the film Mughal-e-Azam with Naushad's music.

• Sangeet Natak Akademi fellow (1967)
• Padma Bhushan Award (1962)
