The Netherlands is a tiny country in which land is manmade from water. Populated in high density, Dutch designers have creating connections, organisation and the vision that anything is makeable in their core. In this introduction key figures explain why Dutch design, fashion and architecture is conceptual, pragmatic, experimental and independent.

The following 6 minutes can be seen as a trailer to the Dutch Profiles. Each of the over 75 short documentaries show an icon in architecture, graphic design, product and fashion design like Rem Koolhaas, MVRDV, Jurgen Bey, Irma Boom, Marlies Dekkers and Alexander van Slobbe in the context of their work.
