Hey guys, this video is sort of a show and tell about how I got my new Atari 5200 Supersystem for the channel. Honestly it was a bad time to pick one up as I just spent several hundred dollars on an Atari Jaguar and Games a few weeks prior. But I figured there was nothing wrong with keeping my eyes out for a decent system that I could afford. Problem is, most working Atari 5200's are expensive, and the cheap ones are untested and look like hell.
But I did end up getting one. So tell me how I did! Also I purchased a rebuild kit from atarirepairparts.com for the controller. So far so good on that but I'll tell you a bit more in the video.
Gameplay is captured from various sources, the first few are from The Atari 50th Collection, the My Arcade Atari Gamestation Pro, and the Atari VCS Vault 2 collection. But everything from the Pac Man footage and beyond is captured directly from the 5200 I bought.
Normally if you want to capture video from an Atari 5200 Supersystem then the best bet is to get an AV modded console. However, I'm able to capture video from a stock unit by using the console (of course), an old VCR, a line doubler and a Clear Click Capture Card. I don't think the video looks too bad but later down the road I'll definitely get a modded 4 port console.

3. Preserve the history of Atari in the video game hobby so that it survives long after us
