In the northern expanse of India, a wintry spell has seized multiple cities, enveloping them in a cold wave and dense fog. Icy weather tightened its grip on various cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Moradabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Meerut, with temperatures plummeting to 8-10 degrees Celsius. Jaipur in Rajasthan experienced a similar meteorological phenomenon on January 08. The national capital, Delhi, and its prominent locations, including Bhikaji Cama Place, AIIMS, Barapullah, and Sarai Kale Khan, are shrouded in a thick layer of fog, with temperatures dipping to 8-10 degrees Celsius.Amritsar in Punjab, too, joined the cities with fog and a cold wave. Meanwhile, Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh also experienced a dense fog and cold wave in the morning hours of January 08. In Srinagar, the cold wave persisted, with temperatures dipping to minus 4.3 degrees Celsius. As these cities tackle the frigid weather conditions, residents bundle up, and daily life slows down, creating a picturesque yet challenging winter scenario across the region. People in the cities were seen huddling around bonfires to beat the chill.
