Team Great Britain's Sky Brown triumphed over a shoulder injury to secure Olympic bronze in an exciting women's skateboarding park final in Paris.
Brown, 16, was seen holding her left shoulder, which she dislocated last week following a serious fall during Tuesday's preliminary event.
However, a spectacular final effort of 92.31 allowed her to add to the bronze she won in Tokyo, where she made history as GB's youngest medallist at 13 years and 28 days old.
'I believe this has shaped my story,' Brown remarked.
I felt the rush of adrenaline and was fully energized. I didn't really focus on it.
Brown promised to 'persevere' through the discomfort after successfully qualifying and indicated she would need surgery post-Games.
She showcased a performance filled with determination and style, even while competing with significant bandaging.
Still, this bronze is a remarkable accomplishment for the British skateboarder, who re-focused her training on skateboarding after narrowly missing out on surfing qualifications in March.
'This experience has been wild with many lows and plenty of highs,' she shared.
Since Tokyo, I have gained so much knowledge. I was one position away from qualifying for surfing. It has made me stronger. I am incredibly thrilled. I wasn't even certain I would get here.
A challenging lead-up to Paris also involved a tear to the medial collateral ligament in her right knee back in April.
Yet now, astonishingly, Brown holds two Olympic medals at the mere age of 16.
