historical tape - Radio Berlin International was the external broadcasting service of East-Germany (GDR) during the 'cold war era' until 1990. This tape with french & english ID was made from a frequency inside the 16-meter-band. The interval signal was the shortened National Anthem of the socialist GDR (DDR), "Auferstanden aus Ruinen" - translated "rising from ruins".
RBI was in parts of the former West-Germany very bad to record due to the near to the transmitters - which means that the "first hop" of the ionosphere reached NOT most parts of germany. So there was a better chance with the direct space wave near the ground. Finally records or tapes in good audio are rarely.
