আল্লাহর ৯৯ টি গুণবাচক নামকে একত্রে আসমা-উল হুসনা বলে। আল্লাহর ৯৯ টি নাম জানা ও অন্তর থেকে জিকির করার ফজিলত অনেক। এই নামসমূহের ব্যাপারে কুরআনের বর্ণনায় আল্লাহ তাআলার উদ্ধৃতি এসেছে -
“আল্লাহ বলে আহ্বান কর কিংবা রাহমান বলে, যে নামেই আহবান কর না কেন, সব সুন্দর নাম তাঁরই।“
- সূরা বনী-ইসরাঈল আয়াত: ১১০।
একটি বিশুদ্ধ হাদিসে আবু হোরায়রা মুহাম্মাদ (সা:)-এর উক্তি বর্ণনা করেন,
“আল্লাহ তাআলার ৯৯টি নাম আছে; সেগুলো মুখস্থকারী ব্যক্তি জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করবে।“
