ECM style drumming is a
ECM style drumming is a bit of an elusive concept that tends to create consternation for younger drummers. Hopefully this video will help unveil some of the ways in which the style evolved as well as show you how to how to think about and approach the style.
The ride cymbal is "king of the north"; the comping approach is similar to jazz, but within an eighth-note context rather than a swing-eighth context.
