Medical Stories - Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) Nita's Story

Florida retiree, Nita, is happiest when painting beach art, so it was devastating news when she was diagnosed with Age-Related Macular Degeneration. AMD is the leading cause of vision loss in people over fifty and today impacts the lives of more than ten million Americans. Not so long ago, AMD would often lead to blindness but now patients like Nita are seeing excellent results from new treatments that are proving highly effective in preserving and even improving their vision.
