1. Download and Install 7-ZIP: https://www.7-zip.org/
2. Download CM2013, HL02 MOD Pack, EP1+2 Assets Pack, zDak Total
Texture Pack and Nem's Tools - Take your time, it is kind of heavy
download.
3. Once you are done downloading, please know that this
should be extracted to a folder outside your user or Program Files.
Now, I would suggest extracting HLMO2 Remake to
C:\\HLVR_GameMod or whatever name you fancy. D:\ drive would be
better! So, do extract the content of HLVR_MO2_Repack_v1.05.rar
there. It will take time.
3a. Extract EP1+2 into your HL2VR game folder (under steamapps)
4. Once done extracting, go into the folder and locate ModOrganiser.exe
and launch it! Now locate and press on the
settings button. In the Paths tab on top and make sure the Base
Directory is where you unzipped the essential mod pack to. Then, make
sure that down on the list in this same window, Managed Game line is
directing to the HL2VR.EXE file (Your game), it is usually in
Streamapps/common/Half-Life 2 VR. Press OK.
5. Now locate the Green and Blue COG wheel button and press on it
(close to the settings button) The window that opens, locate the
Binary line and make sure it's directed to the HL2VR.EXE (under
steam) and then, Start in line should direct it to the folder of where the
hl2vr.exe is in.
6. Now, in the Mod list, you should make sure to change the drop down
menu next to the RUN button to HALF LIFE 2 VR.
7. You should have 83 activared mods. Look for a mod called No Bloom
and untick it. Also, Look on the list for Texture Mods Optional and tick
them all ON (There should be 4 of them - Half Life Alyx Zombie
Replacement, Classic HeadCrab, Styled Poison Zombie and Poison
HeadCrab)
8. In the Mod Manager, locate the Install New Mod button (Second from
the left) and in the window that opens, direct it to the Cinematic Mod
2013 rar file you had downloaded. Approve the prompt and sit and
wait for it to install the mod. It is a big one.
9. zDak Texture pack did not work well for me installing it the same way,
therefore I suggest doing the following.
Extract the zDak texture rar file into a temporary folder (this should
extract about 75 vpk files).
10. Launch and install gcfscape186.exe (Nem's Tool which you had
downloaded).
11. Once Nem's tool is installed and launched, press on Open once
prompt you to direct to package. Locate the folder where you had
unrared the vpk files. Locate the main package file - zDak Total
Textures Pack v5.7_dir.vpk and select it, press Open. I will show you
what is in this all package. Select the folders (Mateial, Models and
Sound) and press extract. Make sure to extract them into one folder
named - zDak Total Texture Mod (Create the folder prior to this)
Now wait..
12. Once extracting is done. You need to move this folder (zDak Total
Texture Mod) to be under the mods folder close to where
ModOrganiser2.exe file is. So just cut and paste this folder there (for
me it is something like that - HL02 VR Cinematic\HL2VR\mods. So
inside mods I have put the zDak extracted folder with the 3 folders
we selected.
13. Now, restart Mod Organizer 2, press on the refresh button inside the
software. In the bottom of the list, you should see Cinematic Mod 2013
VR Pack and zDak Total Texture Pack (if you dont see zDak, that
means you did not place the extracted zDak folder you had created in
step 12 under the mods folder). Just tick them both to make them
active.
14, Last thing you need to do is to select these 2 last mods and drag
them up the list to the Texture Packs section of the list and above
