Ping command is used to check the connectivity between the source computer and the destination computer. The packet size is default 32 bytes if we do not specify anything in the command. However we can change the packet size in the ping command by using an extension of the command by typing -l followed by specifying the size of the packet we want to keep. The allowable range is between 0 bytes and 65500 bytes. Actually we should avoid using large packet sizes to PING as they may slow down the passage of the packet transfer or choke the link or may even time out before reaching the destination.
