Karla Akins is the mother of twin sons, Isaac & Isaiah, who have autism. She recounts the harrowing journey of raising these boys who cried constantly, could not be comforted, interacted only by hitting & biting people, and were easily triggered into emotional meltdowns. Karla courageously decided to teach & train her sons to live “normal lives,” despite the dire predictions of medical professionals, and the criticism of friends who believed the boys were too much to handle.

Today Isaac & Isaiah are not totally independent, but they can walk, run, read, have paid employment, drive a golf cart on errands, serve others, and have a vibrant relationship with the Lord.
