Jane Yan was born in 1969 in Kunming, Yunnan Province China. A top student, she graduated from Fudan University in Shanghai and continued her study in United States in 1990. In 1996, she earned a PhD in Pedagogical Science. She returned to China and co-founded VenusTech with her husband Yan Li. She said she saw the Chinese made a lot of yen from Japan and then used the money to purchase a lot of advanced computers, both hardware and software. For the next couple of years, she worked in Beijing, while her husband worked in the United States. VenusTech is involved in research and development of security products, both services and solutions. Fast forward, she led her company VenusTech IPO in 2010. The stock grew, but the growth has been more like a roller coaster. In 2022, China Mobile acquired 23% of VenusTech for $620 million, indicating rapid change in internet and mobile security. In September 2023, she has a net worth of $1.1 Billions and she is only 54 year old. The secret of her success is her husband Yan Li. Yan Li is the quiet Mastermind behind the scene. Yan Li earned a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Temple University and has years of experience as IT lead on such presitgious American firms like Vanguard and GlaxoSmithKline. Now the two are running the company together.
