In this video I show you how I restored/repaired this vintage cassette tape player made by Sanyo in 1971. I found this cassette tape player in the bottom of a box full of broken bits and pieces at a vintage antique market. I offered the stall holder $2 and he was more than happy to take it. It came with a bag of screws and buttons which is usually never a good sign as it means someone has already tried a repair before and was unsuccessful.
This vintage cassette deck was very dirty inside and out. It's belts were so loose they were barely hanging on. Also someone had taken the speaker out of it! There was also some corrosion on the battery terminals. The leather case is in need of restoration which I will do in another video.
All in all it is not perfect but I am glad I got it working again and will give it a makeover in a future video.
