The Rocket Locomotive at the Rainhill 190 event

Stephenson's Rocket Locomotive replica on loan from the National Railway Museum went on display at the Rainhill 190 celebrations this weekend (25th May 2019).  Rocket 190 is the 190th anniversary of the Rainhill Trails, where Stephenson's Rocket was built for, and won, the Rainhill Trials held by the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in 1829 to choose the best design to power the railway.
