Hello and welcome to Show Me Cables. Today we’re going to show you how to install a TV mount.
This is the Full Motion Articulating TV Wall Mount Bracket.
It is designed for TV’s between 14 and 40 inches and can support up to 55 pounds.
Included with the bracket is all the hardware you will need to complete installation.
As a quick overview on the hardware, the bracket includes various styles of mounting screws for different size TV thread patterns. Washers. Mounting Bolts. Plastic Spacers for TV’s with shallow screw holes. And concrete Anchors, if mounting into concrete or brick walls.
The tools needed for installation are: A pencil, a ratchet with a 10mm socket, a Philips head screwdriver, a drill with a ¼” drill bit, and a socket adapter if available, in which case you can use the drill instead of the ratchet. And a stud finder.
Before getting started, we need to check the VESA pattern of the TV
The VESA pattern is the distance between the screw holes on the back of your TV, which is measured in millimeters.
The measurements for our TV today are 200 millimeters tall and 200 millimeters wide. This means that the TV has a VESA pattern of 200 by 200.
Please make sure that your TV does not exceed the maximum VESA pattern supported by the bracket. Typically, you can find out the TV’s VESA pattern by checking the owner’s manual, but if that’s not the case or if that’s not an option for you, you can always break out the measuring tape and measure it yourself.
Start by attaching the mounting plate onto the back of the TV and lining up the screw holes.
Insert a mounting screw into a washer and hand tighten onto the plate. Finish tightening using the screwdriver.
Using a stud finder, locate and mark the stud you want to mount the bracket onto.
Drill the first pilot hole.
Insert a washer onto a mounting bolt and hand tighten through the bracket. Finish tightening using the ratchet or drill.
Mark the stud for a second pilot hole.
Drill a second pilot hole. Insert another washer onto a mounting bolt and begin hand tightening. Finish tightening using the drill.
Repeat these steps for the remaining mounting point.
Unscrew the locking screws
Now we are ready to mount the TV onto the bracket.
Slide on the mounting plate on the TV so that it fits on the outside of the wall bracket and rests comfortably on the bottom edge.
Then screw in the locking screws.
The bracket features a 17 inch swing arm and when complete, the articulating mount should have a full range of motion for maximum viewing pleasure.
