What is a MANAGEMENT BUCK?? Not what you may think!!
You ak 10 people, you may get 10 different answers. The term "management buck/deer" is one of the terms we hear often, and most of the time it is misused.
While most people have the misunderstand that they can influence the genetic makeup of their deer herd by harvesting "cull" bucks, that just simply is not scientifically possible. Multiple studies have shown that you cannot accurately predict that a buck with nice antlers will certainly produce more bucks with nice antlers.
We hope this little bit of information can help you gain better understanding of what a "management buck" is and how you can implement the strategy of growing big, mature bucks on your own property! We certainly are excited to implement this information at the Kentucky Buck Factory as well!!
