Ignoring the doctor's orders to go to the hospital, all Forrester wants to do when he gets back to the base is to see Anna again. She is after all the one who gives him the strength to go through the excruciating ordeal. What a beautiful and moving scene this ending is... instead of a touchy-feely melodrama, Forrester simply lies down next to the sleeping Anna, and his expression as his head hits the pillow says it all... "I am home, next to the woman I love... and all is well with the world."
