Right Purl Twist Without a Cable Needle Tutorial

Learn how to knit twisted stitch cables without a cable needle. This video covers RPT or Right Purl Twist. It's one of 4 videos showing the four standard types of cable crosses used in the traditional cable designs of Bavaria and Austria.

There are two basic steps to cabling without a cable needle. First you use the right needle tip to secure the second half of the stitches involved and pinch to secure the first half of the stitches. Then you rearrange the stitches. Let me show you how this works.

Once you have this technique down, intricate cables are exciting instead of endless fiddling around with a cable needle.
