Second Sunday Bryan Health Report: Digital Nursing Updates

In this month's edition of Second Sunday, Channel 8 Eyewitness News profiles digital nurse charting at Bryan Health.  Vigilance is a software program that allows nurses' to chart important information about their patients in a digital manner.  This information is made available to loved ones through a secure "Friends and Family" portal.  Individuals are able to view updates on the care that their loved one is receiving, such as their level of pain, medications and physical activities.  To date, people from all 50 states and over 100 countries have utilized this technology to check on the status of their loved ones.  Shawna Larson uses this software several times a day to check on her mother, Joyce, who recently suffered a stroke.  She's very thankful for this program, especially on the days when she is unable to drive from Nebraska City to visit her mother.
