U.S. President Joe Biden says
U.S. President Joe Biden says his first reaction to hearing that former President Donald Trump had been shot at a campaign rally was "My God."
Biden recounted a phone call he had with Trump after the attack on Saturday to a U.S. main broadcaster, NBC's Lester Holt, in an interview that aired Monday evening.
Biden insisted: "There's no place at all for violence in politics in America. None. Zero."
Biden also says whether the U.S. Secret Service should have anticipated Saturday’s assassination attempt against Trump is “an open question.”
Biden was pressed on the matter and said providing security is a complicated process.
He said he feels safe with the Secret Service.
