http://www.euronews.com/ Signalling the start of the world's most famous beer festival, the Mayor of Munich tapped the first beer keg as Oktoberfest got underway in Germany.
Millions of beer-drinkers from across the globe will make their way to Bavaria's capital to sample the wares during the two-week festival.
Most of them will be served by women wearing the traditional Drindl outfit, made up of a bodice, skirt, blouse and apron.
Prices have gone up by almost four percent this year, with a litre of beer costing up to 9.50 euros.
Visitors drank almost eight million litres during last year's Oktoberfest.
