We have been hearing for years that real motorization is ending. That today's cars are not what they used to be. That they don't sound, accelerate, or deliver emotions. That we have quasi-Porsche, quasi-Mercedes, quasi-BMW. There's a badge on the hood, but under the hood there's a milk-carton engine and three turbines.
It turns out, however, that there are glorious exceptions to this rule. Such as the BMW M240i. It costs as much as an awesome Skoda in a diesel engine, gives as much emotion while driving as a Porsche, and goes sideways like an old BMW under a Tesco. It smokes less than 10 liters, has a longitudinally arranged inline "six", xDrive with a preference for the rear, takes just over 4 seconds to a hundred, and among the things unacceptable by lovers of real cars, only the GPF filter and the start and stop system are left. Honestly? If you have a quarter of a mil free, go and buy it, because if others find out that you can, they will complain where necessary and forbid BMW to produce this one of the most brilliant cars from Bavaria for many years.
