How to fix a jammed Cross Century Classic 0.9 mm pencil

Mechanical pencils often come in 0.7mm and 0.5mm, you don’t see 0.9mm much.  I thought this was 0.7mm but later on learned it was instead 0.9mm.  This is actually a good thing as the thicker lead is stronger and at least for me it makes for a nicer writing experience.  Go onto Amazon or elsewhere to find 0.9mm lead.  

If you mess up the tip, try buying a used Cross pencil to buy as a donor for the tip.  You can find used Cross chrome plated pencils for pretty low prices and then carefully remove the tip (use a lot of heat!!!) and install it on your gold filled Cross pencil.
