Tytoona natural area cave preserve in Pennsylvania is a very unique cave system where streams runs out of a virtual cliffside and into the mouth of sinking valley. The cave runs in about 900 foot. 400 foot and you’ll hit a log jam, you can make your way around this if you walk through the pool of water. Please always use caution when walking through pools of any type of water in a cave. It’s usually not advisable. Once around the Log jam, you can proceed another 500 foot into the cave where you will pass through old timbers, railings, and leftover debris from a prior attempt in 1972 to turn this into a tourist trap. But a hurricane took care of that with torrential rain and flooding to the cave. Once you get to the end the water disappears into a vortex. This area drops down into a sump and rises up in a second room. The second room is full of stalactites and stalagmites. But it is not accessible, except by diving. Diving is not allowed in the cave because of a prior unfortunate circumstance when somebody passed away. Tragically, Roberta Spicewood passed away in 1988 during an exploration dive where she was unable to get back in time to poor visibility and losing her guideline. this cave is a very unique system and the particular area where she encountered difficulty is in a 1000 foot stretch and the water reaches over 105 foot deep. This eventually is thought to come out at arch Springs natural Bridge and runs underneath kettle Road. Nearby who will fly Fort Roberdeau, and just down the road you will run into 1000 steps in One Direction or travel down to Bedford Village. Knock off a few adventures in one day. I hope you like the video and we ask you to please like and subscribe. #history #explore #tytoonacave #exploration #timberadventures
