Some are designed for photography and some for video. This one is specifically targeted for use with video as it has the chromaticity references for Rec.709 which is the standard color range for broadcast. So how do you use them? Well, they can actually be used for a variety of things including: White balance Checking exposure Color grading in post-production Simply place the chart into your scene prior to rolling, adjust your exposure until you are happy and you can also set a custom white balance in camera if needed. Then record a few seconds of footage with your chart in the scene and that's all you need. When it comes to post-production, you can use the chart to assist you during your colour-correcting stage before you move on to the creative part of grading. It can be used to help with re-checking exposure and white balance, as well as contrast and saturation levels. This can be done automatically or manually if needed.
