Omsk State Medical University (OmSMU) was founded in 1920. It is one of the oldest and largest universities in Russia. According to the results of official and independent expertise, OmSMU is constantly ranked among the 100 best universities of Russia. More than 8,500 specialists graduate from the university annually. Among graduates, there are more than 350 Doctors of Medicine, 1,600 Candidates of Medical and Biological sciences. Graduates work in all regions of the country, as well as abroad.

OmSMU includes 60 departments with 66 professors, 122 doctors of sciences, and 326 candidates of sciences. In addition, there are 33 training bases in the leading medical institutions of Omsk, equipped with modern diagnostic and medical equipment.
